BETTY WHITE COMEBACK AT 88

In an industry where youth is embraced and wrinkles are fought with Botox and age-defying caviar creams, longtime actress and comedienne Betty White is an exception to the Hollywood rule.

White, 88, is in the midst of a career resurgence at an age when most actors have long since retired from Tinsel Town and moved on to the golf courses of Palm Springs.

In the past year, the former "Golden Girls" star has appeared alongside Sandra Bullock in the blockbuster "The Proposal," landed a cameo in a coveted Super Bowl commercial and received a lifetime achievement award at this year's Screen Actors Guild awards.

On May 8, she'll host NBC's "Saturday Night Live," a gig she landed with the help of a Facebook Fan page that numbers more than 500,000 followers.

Her latest feat? Scoring a spot as a series regular on a new TV Land comedy called "Hot in Cleveland."

Without a doubt, White's career is white hot -- and not just in Cleveland. But she isn't the only one in entertainment who has managed to make a late-in-life comeback.
