The spring season is normally very busy for Iowa real estate broker Georgia Weaver, but not these days due to the COVID-19 pandemic. 
ON THIS DAY IN AMERICAN HISTORY
On April 29, 1992, a jury finds four Los Angeles police officers not guilty of using excessive force in the arrest of Rodney King, an African American, after a high-speed chase. King’s arrest and beating was videotaped, and the gripping footage was aired around the world. The verdict inflamed the already tense African-American community and sparked six days of racial unrest. Sixty-three people died, and over 2,000 were injured. Damages were estimated to be over $1 billion.
VIDEO: Some U.S. states are already easing widespread business closures put in place to slow the spread of the deadly coronavirus. As VOA reports, state governors are trying to balance the public health threat with the severe economic cost of the shutdown that has led to over 26 million Americans losing their jobs in the last month.
While the coronavirus mostly affects the elderly and sick, some human rights group say children could wind up as the biggest victims of the pandemic.
