Paul Simon Announces Farewell Tour
2018
Paul Simon announces his final tour, the Homeward Bound Tour.
Simon says: "I've often wondered what it would feel like to reach the point where I'd consider bringing my performing career to a natural end. Now I know: it feels a little unsettling, a touch exhilarating and something of a relief."
The news comes two weeks after Elton John announced his last tour, but unlike Elton, who will stay on the road until 2021, Simon's tour wraps up in July.
Editors struggle to resist using the headline "The Sound of Silence" in reporting the news.
The tour finishes with a show in September in his hometown of Queens, New York.
