On May 31, 1930, actor, director and musician Clint Eastwood is born in San Francisco, California. Eastwood got his start in show business on television westerns, and that led later to memorable roles in three “Spaghetti Westerns” directed by famed Italian director Sergio Leone. Eastwood would go on to star in numerous Hollywood films, particularly a series of police movies in which he played “Dirty” Harry Callahan, an antihero cop. Eastwood also starred in many of the movies he directed. Several of his movies won Academy Awards, including Unforgiven and Million Dollar Baby . An avid jazz fan and performer, Eastwood also served as mayor of Carmel-by-the-Sea, California. |
