Taste of / Good France in Greece

A great success of the operation since 2015
Since the first edition in 2015 the craze for French dinner continues to grow! From a small fifteen restaurants in Greece in 2015, each new edition attracts additional restaurant owners. They were 22 in 2016, then the 2017 edition brought together 65 restaurants in many Greek cities.
During the last edition, 83 restaurants participated in Greece offering a rich and varied choice of dishes combining French cuisine, local products and the love of cuisine in general.
For its part, the French Embassy in Greece had organized a taste of this gastronomic dinner, the "contest of the best Greek macaroon" at the residence of France, March 19, 2018 which had brought together the 4 finalists of the contest on the 45 initial candidates.
The 2019 edition, they will be more than a hundred!
With its success, the fifth edition hosts, in Greece , 115 restaurants that will participate in the global eventshared between the Greek capital, Athens (Attica) and that of Northern Greece, Thessalonica, but also in other provincial towns or in islands, such as Agia Evfimia (island of Cephalonia), Agios Nikolaos (Crete), Alexandroupoli (Macedonia), Argostoli (Kefalonia island), Corfu-Kerkyra (Corfu island), Edipsos (Euboea island), Florina (Western Macedonia), Heraklion (Crete), Ioannina (Epirus), Kalamata (Peloponnese), Karditsa (Thessaly), Chania (Crete), Larissa (Thessaly), Loutraki (Gulf of Corinth), Messolonghi (Etolia-Acarnania), Metsovo (Epirus), Mytilene (Lesbos), Nafplion (Peloponnese), Naxos (Naxos Island) , Patras (Peloponnese), Portaria (Pelion), Porto Heli (Argolis), Rethymno (Crete), Rhodes (Rhodes Island), Sifnos (Sifnos Island), Sparta (Peloponnese), Santorini (Santorini Island), Sifnos ( island of Sifnos),Sparta (Peloponnese), Syros (Syros Island), Trikala (Thessaly), Veria (Central Macedonia), Zagori (Epirus) and Zante (island of Zakynthos).
Once is not custom, the embassy launched a new contest but the best flash of Greek this time! The final will of course be held at the Residence de France and four finalists will put their know-how into play. 80 candidates participated in the semifinals organized in four cities of Greece.

Taste of / Good France 2019 in the world

For the fifth year in a row, the 2019 edition "Taste of / Good France" will bring together the first day of spring. On March 21, the goal is for more than 5,000 chefs to come together to celebrate French cuisine.
In each of the 114 restaurants participating in Greece, in the form of a dinner, the event will honor the excellence of French cuisine, its capacity for innovation and the values ​​it conveys: sharing, pleasure, respect of "well-being", its contemporaries and the planet.
While nearly a third of international tourists cite gastronomy and oenology among the main factors that motivated their arrival in France, the operation "Taste of / Good France" puts forward the art of living in the French and the products of the terroirs while enhancing the destination France.
The theme 2019: sustainable development
The theme will focus this year on sustainable development through responsible gastronomy and the commitment of chefs to preserve the planet.
Taste of / Good France has chosen to support, for this 5th edition, the "No More Plastic" Foundation , represented by Alexandra Cousteau. She will also lead a round table "Good Impact" , March 22 in Paris on the issues of environmental preservation and resources, in the presence of cooks, scientists, business leaders ...
A French destination in the spotlight: Provence
Provence, destination in honor of Taste of / Good France, will be valued at various events in France and internationally. For the first time, the department of Bouches-du-Rhône and Provence Tourisme are launching MPG2019 (Marseille-Provence Gastronomie 2019): 1,000 events for a year of celebration, meetings of chefs, gourmet markets, picnics, urban vegetable gardens ... a real gourmet journey in Provence.

The festival of gastronomy in France will take place over 4 days, from March 21 to 24, 2019. Thousands of gourmet events to discover to savor the diversity of French gastronomy: a culinary experience to live and share throughout the territory French.
