On October 3, 1995, former American football star, spokesman and actor O.J. Simpson is found not guilty of the 1994 double murder of his estranged wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend Ronald Goldman. The trial lasted 252 days and captivated the nation as his “dream team” of lawyers were able to cast doubt about his guilt. A civil trial three years later found Simpson responsible for the murders and he was ordered to pay over $33 million to the families. Very little of that money has been paid out so far. |
