During Jason Aldean's headlining set at the Route 91 Harvest festival on the Las Vegas strip, Stephen Paddock opens fire from his suite at the nearby Mandalay Bay hotel, killing 58 and injuring over 500 in the deadliest mass shooting in US history.
Seven songs into Aldean's set at the festival, gunfire rains down as Paddock strafes the crowd from his 32nd floor corner suite, located a block away. The shots come in quick bursts from semi-automatic rifles modified with bump stocks to make them fire faster. By the time the shooting stops, 58 are killed and over 500 are injured among the crowd of roughly 22,000.
When police enter Paddock's room, they find him dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. In his room are 23 guns and thousands of rounds of ammunition.
