Our Final Emmy Predictions
The Primetime Emmy Awards will air on Fox Sunday night, and if you worked on Game of Thrones or Veep, you probably feel good for two reasons: Your show is favored to win its top category, and it’s off the air, so you might not even have to go to work Monday morning. Even as HBO’s departed juggernauts seem likely to dominate much of the drama and comedy races, there are some potential upsets to keep an eye on, as well as some potential for first-time winners—like Julia Garner of Ozark or Michael K. Williams of When They See Us—to emerge from their competitive fields. Vanity Fair’s awards obsessives did their best to predict all the major categories, and if you want to play along, we’ve got you covered: Fill out our interactive Emmys ballot, share it with your friends, and prepare for bragging rights.
Elsewhere in HWD, Joanna Robinson wonders just how bulletproof Game of Thrones’ Emmys advantage might be and also catches Toronto’s big winner Jojo Rabbit at Fantastic Fest in Austin; Paul Chi talks to Renée Zellweger at the Los Angeles premiere of Judy; and Laura Bradley looks back at the Friends episode all about “The Routine.”
