The Trump administration is proposing to accept a maximum of 18,000 refugees in the coming year, in what would be the lowest refugee ceiling in the country’s history, the U.S. State Department said Thursday .

On September 27, 1959, then Soviet Union premier, Nikita Khrushchev wraps up a nearly two-week tour of the United States. The tour was widely covered by the media and created several memorable moments, including him showing public anger after being barred from Disneyland for security reasons. At the end of the tour, Khrushchev met with then President Dwight D. Eisenhower.
