Depardieu parodies plane peeing incident

Just a few weeks after taking flak for peeing on an Air France plane, French actor Gerard Depardieu is showing he has a sense of humor about the incident.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Depardieu has shot a video spoofing the unfortunate urination.

In the video, Depardieu and pal Edouard Baer, who was with Depardieu when he peed on the plane, appear as their characters from the French series “Asterix and Obelix.”

Obelix (Depardieu) is on a plane and told he won’t be able to eat wild boar until after takeoff. He says he can't wait because he's too hungry. (Just like in real life, when the actor couldn’t wait until takeoff to urinate.) The character then leaves his seat anyway, and a flight attendant tells passengers over the intercom that they must make an unscheduled landing because of a passenger who made a "mess."

In real life, Depardieu has expressed his apologies (via Baer) for inconveniencing passengers and crew. A “dodgy prostate” was blamed for the incident.

Depardieu and Baer’s series is coming to the big screen in 2012 with “Asterix and Obelix: On Her Majesty's Secret Service.”
