On December 14, 2012, a gunman storms Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn., killing 20 first graders and six school workers before shooting himself to death. Earlier, the gunman killed his mother at their home. The shooting was the second worst mass shooting in the U.S. at the time, but it’s now the fourth, after the 2017 Las Vegas concert shooting, the 2016 Orlando nightclub shooting, and the 2007 Virginia Tech shooting. |
