Even though the Bahaman were not the original creators of the song, their version swept through stadiums with excellent praise. The question that was constantly asked, “who let the dogs out?’. Kids, parents, players, & coaches couldn’t help themselves from singing along to the amusing song. It’s a catchy tune that many MLB teams played during the games. There was one occasion when Bahamen even changed the words once from “who let the dogs out”, to who let the “Mets Out."

9. Blitzkrieg Bop by The Ramones

RAMONES

Seeing as this song just makes you want to have a great time - and at sporting events everyone is always having a great time - the two go hand in hand together. The famous line "Hey! Ho! Let's go!" is fun & easy to chant while rooting your team on.  It has been played throughout many stadiums but besides sporting events and being a well-loved classic hard rock song, “Blitzkrieg Bop” also is widely known from a popular Tony Hawk PlayStation game. While being able to flip, skid, and do all sorts of wild tricks it had The Ramones playing in the background, which made the game that much more enjoyable.

8. Welcome to the Jungle by Guns N' Roses

welcome

When Guns N’ Roses first released this song in 1987 they had high hopes, as all artists do. “Welcome to the Jungle” instantly dominated the charts and stadiums across the nation. It was, and still is frequently played during sporting events to get the crowd and competitors pumped up.  It was so popular and affective during games that Rolling Stones Magazine even named it the greatest sports anthem in 2009. Whether you are playing in a game or just rooting for a favorite team of yours, there has to be at least one memory you have singing this song after a big win. Sure, it might not represent great sportsmanship but having this song blasting after winning makes victory even sweeter. And hey, you won; you’re allowed to do a little innocent bragging if you want. It’s an enjoyable song that gets the crowd waving their arms back in forth with shouting the classic “Na, Na, Na, Na, Na, Na ,Na Na..”

Now this song just makes you want to get up and dance! With its funky beat and a repetition of lyrics that make it an easy sing-a-long it really is a crowd hit.  It was released in ’93 yet, fans are still “whomping’ to this day. Its popularity during baseball games first started whenever a player would make an important hit, this song would play after. It became a reoccurring theme that fans looked forward too.

5. The Star Spangled Banner - Francis Scott Key

star spangled

Now this one transcends the word ‘classic’. Everyone who has ever been to, played, or watched a game knows that our national anthem is sung before each event. The crowd stands up, stops talking, and takes off their hats as they listen to the powerful lyrics we’ve all become familiar with. It’s such a traditional way to start off a sporting event, it would just be wrong without it. In those few moments, it doesn’t matter what game is being played or who is playing, in the end we are all from the great USA and we all respect and honor those who have died for our country.

get ready

This is definitely a crowd favorite. One of the best songs to not only get the crowd pumped up and ready for action, but the players as well. It has served as the opening song for countless amounts of games; it has the right beat and tempo to get people off their feet. “Get ready for this” has also been feature in many movies, including the most popular and unforgettable sports movie (and out last week’s #1 kids sports movie) “Space Jam” with Michael Jordan.

“I don’t care if I never get back” is one of the many beloved lines in the classic song “Take Me Out To The Ball Game,” a wonderful song that relates to all die hard baseball fans. It really reflects on the excitement one has for the entire atmosphere of baseball game from the cracker jacks to rooting for the home team and everything in between.

2. Eye of the Tiger by Survivor

eyeoftiger

We all love Rocky, an inspiring movie that demonstrates how hard athletes will work for what they want and during that film we were first introduced to “Eye of The Tiger”. Ever since it has stuck with the sports world and there are no questions as to why. Many athletes use it as a motivation, and it can relate to such a plethora of sports that need a little musical boost to get them in the right mindset. From running and weightlifting to boxing and football it has an impact on them all.

1. We Are the Champions / We Will Rock You by Queen

Even though these are two different songs they are generally played back to back and make a dynamic duo. The most frequent sports anthem played of all times during many, if not all sporting events. The stomping and clapping in the beginning rock stadiums across the world and of course who doesn’t like singing along with the words “we are the champions”. It’s such a feel good song that’s not only encouraging  but is a true song for the victorious teams that work hard, and deserve to feel good at the end of the game knowing they accomplished the ultimate goal as champions!
