ΑΥΣΤΗΡΩΣ ΑΚΑΤΑΛΛΗΛΑ ΤΡΑΓΟΥΔΙΑ ΣΤΙΣ ΗΠΑ

This week's Hot 100 should probably be rated PG-13. The top four songs are Lady Gaga's "Born This Way," which is the most gay-friendly song ever to become a pop smash; Rihanna's "S&M," a frisky ode to kinky sex; and two songs with "the F word" in their titles: Cee Lo Green's "F**k You (Forget You)" and P!nk's "F**kin' Perfect." J.Lo's "On The Floor," which jumps to #5, is the highest-ranking song on this week's chart that wouldn't give lyric watchdog types a blood pressure spike..

"Born This Way" tops the Hot 100 for the fourth straight (you should forgive the expression) week. It's the first song to debut at #1 and then stay there for four weeks since Aerosmith's "I Don't Want To Miss A Thing" achieved the feat in 1998. It's the first song by a female solo artist to do this since Mariah Carey's "Fantasy," which held tight for eight weeks in 1995..

"Born This Way" tops "Just Dance" (featuring Colby O'Donis) as Gaga's longest-running #1 hit to date. That 2009 smash logged three weeks at #1..

I have more good news for Gaga. Her 2009 smash "Poker Face" tops the 6 million mark in sales this week. Gaga has two of the three songs that have reached 6 million in digital sales. "Just Dance" reached 6 million three weeks ago. The only non-Gaga song that has sold 6 million digital copies is the Black Eyed Peas' "I Gotta Feeling," which leads all songs with digital sales of 6,927,000 copies..

Cee Lo Green's "F**k You (Forget You)" holds at #2 for the third straight week. The song has something in common with the Village People's "Y.M.C.A.," a big gay wink which also logged three weeks at #2 in February 1979. In both cases, the songs' irrepressible energy and good spirits simply overpowered all resistance..

Rihanna's "S&M" jumps from #5 to #3. It's her 13th top five hit. Billboard's Gary Trust notes that only four women have notched more top five hits. Madonna leads all women with 28 top five hits, followed by Mariah Carey (26), Janet Jackson (24) and Whitney Houston (19). Beyonce and Olivia Newton-John are tied with Rihanna with 13 top five hits each..

.
Trust's tally combines lead and featured performances, but it doesn't include prior group involvements. If you were to include those, Beyonce's total would jump to 22 (counting nine top five hits with Destiny's Child). Of course, if you were to combine solo and group recordings, you'd also pick up Diana Ross, who also had 22 top five hits: 15 with the Supremes and seven as a solo star. I'm not sure that kids today realize just how big Diana Ross was in her heyday. She was every bit as big as Beyonce and Whitney at their peaks (and maybe even bigger)..
