2019 Monaco Yacht Show: Top 10 Largest Superyachts
When it comes to celebrating the end of the summer season in high style, it’s pretty hard to compete with the Monaco Yacht Show that takes place at the end of September. The superyachts on display will be some of the newest, largest and most expensive “portable private islands” on Earth.
And all of the Monaco Yacht Show’s other attractions—impossibly sexy speedboats, helicopters, personal submarines, limousines and luxury cars—will impress even the most jaded billionaire. And don’t even get me started on the hotels, restaurants and of course, the Casino in this tiny principality on the French Riviera.
But the largest superyachts are always the star attractions. So without further ado, here’s a preview of the top 10 largest superyachts that will be at the Monaco Yacht Show later this month.
Tis, 365 Feet
The German superyacht craftsmen at Lürssen have a well-earned reputation for building some of the worlds largest private yachts in the world. The talented team at the London-based Winch Design have drawn the lines and imagined the interiors of with a long list of award winning superyachts.
And since Moran Yacht & Ship has a stellar reputation for managing every facet of large yacht projects, it comes as no surprise that the 365-foot-long TIS, one of the largest and most regal yachts to be launched this year, was built by Lürssen, designed (both interior and exterior) by Winch Design, and Moran Yacht & Ship wrote the technical specifications, acted as owner’s representative, and managed the entire construction process.
AMADEA, 348 Feet
The 348-foot-long AMADEA is not only one of the largest and most distinctive superyachts in the world. The yacht’s six distinctive guest decks are outlined by curves designed by Espen Øino. And with her interior designed by Francois Zuretti, she can also insure up to 16 guests will enjoy the ultimate privacy and offshore luxury.
AMADEA’s 30-foot-long infinity pool stands out even among superyacht pools and her selection of inside and outside cinemas, represent the epitome of luxury, comfort and exclusivity.
Phoenix 2, 295 Feet
Phoenix 2, nearly 300-foot long superyacht designed by Winch Design and built by the German superyacht experts at Lurssen Shipyard, was not the first yacht they collaborated on for this specific owner who works in real estate and is fascinated by skyscrapers and art deco style.
In fact, the owner was so happy with his original Phoenix—smaller at just under 200-feet, launched in 2004, and inspired by Art Deco style—Winch's design team and the Lurssen build team were not surprised when the wish list for the new yacht called for another opulent Art Deco inspired interior.
DreAMBoat, 295 Feet
With the recent launch of his 295-foot-long superyacht DreAMBoat, Home Depot billionaire and Atlanta Falcon’s owner Arthur Blank is reportedly joining an exclusive (and yet growing) list of NFL owners who’ve taken delivery of extremely large yachts this year.
Blank’s 295-footer DreAMBoat (AMB are his initials), was built by Oceanco and designed in collaboration between Espen Øino International and Terence Disdale Design.
The yacht’s massive volume allows for luxurious accommodations for up to 23 guests and the well thought-out crew’s quarters can accommodate up to 33 crew members.
BOLD, 278 Feet
The 278-foot-long BOLD is the largest and newest superyacht to be built by Silver Yachts. It’s distinctive look was designed by Espen Øino. And according to advance materials, its highly fuel efficient.
Here Comes The Sun, 272 Feet
The 272-foot-long Here Comes The Sun is the largest AMELS yacht built to date. The Tim Heywood exterior design has a distinctive paint scheme.
While the yacht’s large interior volume and six decks features a modern, relaxed Winch Design interior inspired by natural tones and materials.
Secret, 270 Feet
The 270-foot-long Secret was built by Abeking & Rasmussen and is equipped with a cinema, gym, elevator, massage room, and two large tenders.
This yacht is capable of taking its owner and guests global cruising. And it’s also available for charter.
Excellence, 263 Feet
The innovative team at Winch Design, the London-based firm that specializes in designing some of the world’s most iconic superyachts, private planes and palatial residences, may have outdone themselves with the recent launch of the 263-foot-long Excellence at the Abeking & Rasmussen shipyard in Germany. In fact, they’ve imagined a superstructure that’s not quite like any yacht that’s ever been built before. But then again, they had to.
The experienced owner they worked with called for his latest yacht to be “extraordinary,” and to create a seamless feeling of openness and connection to the outside world. As a result, the angular reverse bow looks more akin a spaceship from the future than a superyacht. And her exterior lines draw the eye up to the bridge and owner’s decks which are surrounded on all sides by curved floor-to-ceiling mirrored glass.
Dragon, 260 Feet
The 260-foot-long Dragon is the new flagship of Columbus Yachts that is part of the Palumbo Superyachts brand. Built in just 27 months, Dragon’s naval engineering and external design is by Hydro Tec. The interiors are by Guida Design and combine contemporary elements with classic proportions.
Mimtee, 258 Feet
Mimtee was built by CRN for a selective and determined owner. The exterior of the 258-foot long yacht was designed by Zuccon International Project, and the interiors were designed by Laura Sessa.
