Even if you were enchanted by Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s star-making series Fleabag—and how could you not have been, unless you’re a monster?—you likely didn’t expect her to turn up so quickly as a droid in a Star Wars movie, a writer on a James Bond adventure, and now a major player in the new Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny. Waller-Bridge’s rise has been a bit of a shock even to her. As she says in VF’s new cover story, “You come out of the wind tunnel and your hair’s all crazy like, what the fuck? Fleabag changed my career, and then suddenly you’re so in the moment. And then years pass, pandemics happen, you do a Star Wars, you do an Indiana Jones.
