Becoming Princess Diana
Life imitates art, particularly when one of the most famous actors in the world is playing one of the 20th century’s most famous people, period. The newly-engaged Kristen Stewarttold Julie Miller as much in a recent conversation about Spencer, her unconventional Princess Diana biopic. “I’m fine with going out of my house and having people follow me to Starbucks and [watch me] get coffee. That’s fine. Take my picture. I made a movie. I want you to see it,” Stewart says. She feels differently, though, about paps stationing themselves outside her set—and trying to capture glimpses of Stewart, much as they did to Diana. “I was like, Fuck off. I developed a very genuinely protective relationship with this person that I obviously never met.”
