ITALY 2018 🇮🇹 SANREMO FESTIVAL WINNERS ACCEPTED #EUROVISION CHALLENGE AND WILL GO TO LISBON

ITALY – The 2018 edition of Sanremo Festival concluded after 5 hours of broadcast and we have a winner. Ermal Meta & Fabrizio Moro won the 2018 trophy. Ermal Meta & Fabrizio Moro already said yes to Eurovision 2018 and it seems that RAI despite the song problems approved their participation in the Lisbon Eurovision edition.
THE STORY OF THE FIRSTT NIGHT IN SANREMO
As the second night of the Sanremo festival is about to start, the Italian drama we expected is about to happen. After yesterday’s first show and presentation of the 20 competing entries, the press underlined the fact that the entry “Non Mi Avete Fatto Niente” performed by early favourites Ermal Meta and Fabrizio Moro had incredible and clear similarities with a song from Sanremo Youth 2016 called “Silenzio”. Indeed, after we listened to both songs it became obvious: same author (Andrea Febo), same song…
Since the song is not an original entry some have called for its disqualification from the festival, and this may have happened today. Earlier today, the organizers as well as the new artistic director (and host) Claudio Baglioni have decided to suspend the entry which was supposed to be performed again tonight. This decision comes as a twist since in a press conference earlier today, RAI’s deputy director Claudio Fasulo explained that the song had all the necessary credentials to be in the line-up.
