Working for an excellent Annual Conference 2023 in San Sebastian-Donostia
The autumn meetings of the Executive Committee and the European Board were held on 18 and 19 November 2022 in San Sebastian-Donostia, Basque Country, Spain, hosted by EITB - Basque Radio and Television, the public service broadcaster.
We are wrapping up a year of successful return to conducting our core activities in person after two years of working mainly online. Both the EC and the EB meetings explored different topics to focus on in the training programme and for the next Annual Conference.
CIRCOM Regional and EITB signed an agreement for the 2023 Annual Conference in San Sebastian-Donostia next June.
“We believe EITB, Basque Television will be prepared very well for the Conference. They are bringing the most difficult and most important topics in journalism right now. It will give us the possibility to come from all of Europe, have good discussions, learn from each other and become better journalists and leaders when returning back home. This is what CIRCOM is really about”, said Eivind Undrum Jacobsen, interim President of CIRCOM Regional.
“For us in EITB it will be the honour to host the Annual Conference of CIRCOM Regional on 1 and 2 June next year. It will be very interesting to welcome all of you and to explain our projects and share knowledge”, said Andoni Aldekoa, Director General of EITB.
“We are trying to bring the best content to CIRCOM members, many topics that are up to the needs and concerns of the public service broadcasters across Europe”, said Fernando Ojea, Secretary General of CIRCOM Regional.
RTVC Canary Islands, new CIRCOM member
RTVC – Televisión Pública de Canarias SA from Canary Islands, Spain will be Member of CIRCOM Regional as of 1 January 2023.

Ready for the Prix CIRCOM Regional 2023
The new Prix CIRCOM cycle will be launched by mid-December. It will be the first one with a new leadership who, we are sure, will keep and develop further the outstanding quality of the Prix. We encourage the creators from CIRCOM member stations to use this opportunity and submit their best achievements of 2022.So, do dare to accept the challenge and take part in this prestigious competition, be the one to set the trends and new, even higher standards in regional television across Europe.
December training
The training programme 2022 will be ending with an online webinar “Digital First – Fresh Thinking” on 6 December – a good point of thinking out of the box, a chance to end a busy year on a high note of inspiration, just before the holiday.
