The World According to Stanley Tucci |
Stanley Tucci is so beloved that it’s difficult to imagine him facing an uphill climb for film roles—but as the actor tells David Canfield on a new episode of Little Gold Men, he hasn’t always been Hollywood’s most in-demand star. “After The Devil Wears Prada, I couldn’t get a job, and I didn’t quite understand that, but that’s just the way it was,” Tucci says. “So I went and did stuff that I didn’t necessarily want to do, but I did it.” And now he’s back in a place where he can afford to be choosier, picking meaty roles in films like Conclave, a juicy drama about the process of choosing a new pope. “Everything you needed to know was on that page,” Tucci says of why he signed on to the film. “There’s beautiful subtext in there.” |
