The Eternal Princess Diana |
In 2017, William and Harry participated in the documentary Diana, Our Mother: Her Life and Legacy, timed to the 20th anniversary of Princess Diana’s death. They vowed it would be the last time they publicly shared personal memories of their mother, though Harry, of course, went on to reveal even more in his memoir, Spare. Whether or not the princes ever do stop talking about their love for Diana, the world’s fascination will clearly never wane. Today, on the occasion of The Crown’s sixth and final season, VF’s Julie Miller walks us through the princess’s too-short life. Even William, by far the more tight-lipped of the Diana’s children, has said things that bring the love and tragedy of it all rushing back: “I give thanks that I was lucky enough to be her son and know her for the 15 years that I did. She set us up really well. She gave us the right tools and has prepared us well for life, not obviously knowing what was going to happen.” |
