Presenting Your 2021 Golden Globe Nominees
Congratulations, Mank! David Fincher’s true Hollywood story is now the most-nominated film at the Golden Globes, earning six nods when the list was announced Wednesday morning. It was followed closely by its fellow Netflix denizen The Trial of the Chicago 7, which earned five nominations of its own. Meanwhile, The Crown—another Netflix production—and Pop TV’s Schitt’s Creek led the pack in the TV race, earning six and five nominations, respectively. HBO’s The Undoing was the morning’s most-nominated limited series, with four nods.
Elsewhere in HWD, Yohana Desta tallies the most surprising nominations and snubs from the Globes’ rundown; Anthony Breznican chats with Mark Harris about Harris’s absorbing new biography of Mike Nichols; Britt Hennemuth catches up with Michael Gandolfini, son of James, who’s playing a young Tony Soprano in the upcoming film The Many Saints of Newark; and Richard Lawson reviews Katherine Heigl’s soapy new Netflix series, Firefly Lane.
