Chilling With a Villain
Fans of WandaVision were so captivated by the series that they launched a flood of theories, some of which turned out to be—how to put this nicely?—totally wrong. Some fans, for instance, were expecting a certain male villain. Instead, they got someone far cooler: Kathryn Hahn’s Agatha. Today, V.F.’s Joanna Robinson talks to Hahn about a fandom so invested that it sometimes gets ahead of itself: “That’s totally thrilling. But I guess the disappointment is in something that never was there to begin with. This is about a woman reconciling her grief and walking through her pain to find her power.”
Elsewhere in HWD, Netflix cracks down (sort of, a little bit) on password sharing; Anthony Breznican dives deep into the Snyder Cut of Justice League with Ray Fisher and Joe Manganiello; Cassie Da Costa reviews Pedro Almodóvar’s short film The Human Voice; and HWD talks to Genius: Arethashowrunner Suzan-Lori Parks about honoring the Queen of Soul on the night of the limited series’ virtual premiere, which National Geographic is doing in partnership with Vanity Fair.
