Annual Conference – The Keynotes
Keynote speakers are at the centre of every productive debate. This May we are looking forward to the CIRCOM Regional Annual Conference where most experienced media professionals will take center stage to lay out their visions about the changes we are facing in television, radio and digital media. We will talk about the application of Artificial intelligence and its impact on journalism, what are the stories that are most appealing to viewers and how climate changes led to surge of climate journalism. Journalists deal with challenges both in their everyday work and, in a wider aspect, they face challenges arising from the society in which media operate. To mention just one of them - we will take on how to address the effects of social and online harassment against newsroom professionals. The most important forum for regional televisions across Europe will get in its sessions distinguished personalities to talk about regional media and its impact on the regional and local communities and its contribution for the society.
The Annual Conference of CIRCOM Regional will be hosted by TVP3 Poznań, part of TVP. It will take place on 23-24 May in Poznań, Poland.

Training – Addressing the Challenges of the Future
This April CIRCOM Regional will hold two trainings important for improving the capacity and the output of regional TV newsrooms. On 26 April a one day workshop Shaping Media for the Future will be held at the University of Vigo, Galicia, Spain. It is part of the UVigo CIRCOM Regional Chair Project. Academia representatives and media practitioners will discuss application of Artificial intelligence in newsrooms, the dual role of innovation as impetus for creation and as disruption factor and other topics.
Two months ahead of the European elections CIRCOM Regional will organize a themed workshop Fact-checking & Verification during elections campaigns. Johanna Vehkoo, journalist from Finland with experience in dealing all kinds of misinformation and fakery on the Internet will lead this training. It will be held on 11-12 April in Helsinki and will be hosted by Yle, Finnish public broadcasting company.
