- How? The melting of polar ice caps is causing changes in the rotation of the Earth, a new study found. That could have a slight impact on how long our days are.
- One idea to fix it: A “negative leap second” may need to be added to the calendar in 2029, the study said. That would get the clocks back in sync with the planet.
