It was one of many schools that went test optional during the pandemic. The details: Ippei Mizuhara stole from the Los Angeles Dodgers star to pay off gambling debts, federal prosecutors said yesterday. He has been charged with bank fraud. What it means: The indictment appeared to vindicate Ohtani — baseball’s highest-paid player — in a scandal that has dominated headlines since the start of the MLB season.
