Everything You Need to Know About the SAG Awards
Sunday evening’s Screen Actors Guild Awards looked a little different than usual. The breezy ceremony lasted only an hour; it was pretaped remotely due to the pandemic. Still, the SAGs managed to be an entertaining affair, squeezing in both awards and amusing patter delivered by a handful of all-star presenters. And while several prizes went to widely predicted winners, especially in the TV categories, the SAG Awards also threw a few curveballs, such as Viola Davis beating out Frances McDormand in the best-actress category, and Yuh-Jung Youn triumphing over Glenn Close in supporting actress.
Elsewhere in HWD, Laura Regensdorf gets the scoop on SAG nominee Emma Corrin’s 1990s-inspired beauty look; Karen Valby praises Daniel Kaluuya, first-time Saturday Night Live host; Lisa Liebman digs into the truth behind Netflix’s slippery serial killer series The Serpent; and Joanna Robinson explains why a certain character in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier may wind up being the key to understanding everything.
