Trip Report: Azul A350 Paris Orly to Sao Paulo
It's been over 10 years since my last visit to Brazil and I am glad to try a new airline; Azul. I flew with their A350 from Paris to Sao Paulo.
China Eastern Airlines Flight 583 – A Cabin Crew Perspective
A design fault, pilot error, and a fatal nudge.
On April 6th, 1993, China Eastern Airlines Flight 583 departed from Hongqiao International Airport, Shanghai, China, bound for Los Angeles International Airport, United States. The flight had already completed the first part of its journey from Beijing, China. The McDonnell MD-11 had 235 passengers onboard and 20 crew.

Air France – KLM Orders 90 A350s + Air Canada Orders 30 B787-10s
Air France-KLM Group has ordered 50 Airbus A350-900 and A350-1000 aircraft, with purchase rights for 40 additional aircraft. Deliveries of these A350s are scheduled to begin in 2026 and continue through 2030. These aircraft will eventually replace the Airbus A330s and older Boeing 777 aircraft. According to Reuters, this decision comes after an intense competition […]

How Emirates’ Fleet Will Change In Five Years?
Since about 2017, Emirates has had just two types operating in its passenger fleet. This will change in less than a year.
- The airline's fleet used to be more diverse, with multiple aircraft types, including Airbus A330s and A340s, but these have been phased out over the years.
- Emirates has a significant number of new aircraft on order, including 50 Airbus A350-900s, 115 Boeing 777Xs, and 30 Boeing 787-9s, which will add complexity to their fleet composition.

The European St Maarten: Introducing Skiathos Airport
The Greek island is a planespotter's paradise!
Whether it's to take the perfect photograph or merely to feel a plane's raw power, many avgeeks love getting as close to aircraft as possible. St Maarten in the Caribbean is famous among both planespotters and the general public for its low approaches and powerful jet blast departures. However, did you know that a Greek island features similarly extreme spectacles? Let's take a look at Skiathos Airport.

The World’s Most Unique Plane? Meet The Airbus A340-8000
This post was brought to you by Simple Flying In 1998, the government of Brunei took delivery of a very unique Airbus A340. This aircraft was the only example of the European quadjet widebody’s ‘-8000’ variant. This government had intended for this special version to go to the brother of the Sultan of Brunei, but […]

Video: Inside Aircraft Heavy Maintenance – Flying Azul Embraer + A330neo
I took a flight from one of the most spectacular airports; Santos Dumont in Rio de Janeiro to São Paulo Campinas with Azul Embraer 195. The captain explained about the special operation in and out of Santos Dumont, it required manual precision landing and full power short field takeoff. Watch how my flight departed the airport with just 1,320m long runway!
In Campinas Airport, I visited Azul Airlines maintenance and engineering facility. I was shown an Azul A330 on jacks without wheels and going through landing gear maintenance and changes. Mr Jorge, a manager at the facility showed me carbon fiber and composite materials, repairs of interiors and components such as nose, elevator, engine reverser, wiring, batteries and paint hangar. If you’re interested in aircraft engineering, this is the place for you!
In the evening, I flew out of Campinas for Lisbon on Azul A330neo with brand new interior. Watch how the pilot flies the A330neo from the camera in the cockpit.
