After nearly three decades in the industry, Melanie Lynskey is finally getting her due. The Kiwi character actor gained wider recognition this season for her pointed lead turn in Showtime’s Yellowjackets, and a small but crucial role in Don’t Look Up,and is set to get even more attention for the Hulu true-crime drama Candy, which casts her opposite Jessica Biel. “It’s been very weird for me. I’ve never had any of this,” she tells David Canfield on the latest episode of Little Gold Men,speaking about the critical praise and awards attention she’s drawn in recent months. “How lucky am I to have had that moment in my life?”
