Our Final Oscar Nominations Predictions
When the Oscar nominations are announced on Monday morning, there will be plenty of opportunity for people to nod sagely—“Ah, yes, I knew Laura Dern was getting in,” or “Good for them for acknowledging the masterful work by Roger Deakins.” But there will inevitably be gasps of surprise, and maybe particularly because it’s been such a short Oscar season, which could make the conventional wisdom especially off-base this year. There’s only one way to be prepared though: by reading our final Oscar nomination predictions, in every category except the shorts. (We are very smart but we cannot actually see the future.) Find out why we’re bullish on Uncut Gems,hopeful for Parasite in one craft category, and wondering, like everyone else, what’s going to fill that Cats-sized hole in the best-original-song race.
