Historians are reaching back to the turmoil of 1968 for comparisons. On the Democratic side: Candidates feel more optimistic after President Biden dropped out and endorsed Vice President Harris. She has quickly taken control of the party. On the Republican side: Donald Trump is facing backlash for saying people “won’t have to” vote in 2028. And his VP pick, Sen.
