Sneak Peek Season |
You may have noticed we’ve been doing a lot of looking ahead lately. With the Venice and Telluride film festivals kicking off this week, it’s prime season for the most anticipated films of the fall to introduce themselves—and here at Vanity Fair, we’re getting to arrange a lot of those introductions. Take Rebecca Ford’s interview with Jamie Bernstein, the daughter of Leonard Bernstein and Felicia Montealegre, speaking for the first time about Bradley Cooper’s film about her parents, Maestro. Paired with dazzling first-look images for the film, the interview sets the stage for Maestro’s premiere at Venice later this week. “He had found a way into the story of our dad that wasn’t just about his career and his fame and all of that,” Jamie Bernstein says of the film, which costars Carey Mulligan as Montealegre. “It was instead something very personal, very intimate, really about who he was as a human being.” |
