We started the preparations for the 2025 Annual Conference. Our intentions are to come up with a programme that would be both aiming to capture the trends, the large picture in media, and drawing attention to successful case studies from our members thus contributing to sharing their positive experiences. The Prix CIRCOM – our emblematic competition featuring the best media content in regional television, will be a highlight event in the programme putting under the spotlight inspiring and innovative content from regional media across Europe.      The Annual Conference will take place on 22-23 May 2025 and will be hosted by 3Cat Catalonia, Spain. CIRCOM members, save the date!  Introducing 3Cat, Catalonia, Spain - Annual Conference 2025 host Deputy Secretary General Anne-Catherine Nanopoulos is the new acting Deputy Secretary General of CIRCOM Regional. She takes over from the outgoing DSG Françoise Erb, who is retiring. Currently Deputy Director for International Affairs at France Televisions, Mrs. Nanopoulos has got extensive experience in the activity of 13 French regional TV channels and in programmes exchange with international media organizations. At CIRCOM Regional we thank Françoise Erb for her contribution and for her tireless work and the devotion to the CIRCOM cause and we hope to see her among us in the future. We are looking forward to work together with Anne-Catherine Nanopoulos in responding to the challenges our organization is facing. Back to Training After the summer recess we returned to our intensive training programme with the workshop “Leading Through Change”. Held in Budapest, Hungary on 4-6 September. As audiovisual media are in a state of ongoing transition, this workshop on leading through the process proved to be timely response to the needs of our members. Also, we will provide more opportunities to delve in leadership in media with the “Stepping Up – a workshop for female leaders” (in October). In the coming months our training programme will provide some topical seminars on the problem of news avoidance, a training on climate journalism and reporting climate changes, and a look into creative usage of archives. CIRCOM Received the Saria Award CIRCOM Regional received the EITB Saria Award at the FesTVal in Vitoria-Gasteiz, the Basque Country, Spain. “We are delighted to acknowledge the significant milestone of CIRCOM Regional's 40th anniversary of holding Annual Conferences”, said EITB’s Director General, Andoni Aldekoa, who presented the trophy to the CIRCOM Regional Secretary General, Fernando Ojea, at the closing ceremony of the FesTVal. EITB awarded also FORTA, in recognition of their 35th anniversary. FORTA is the umbrella organization for many regional television stations in Spain.
