Batfleck Returns
Perhaps The Flash’s first solo DC Cinematic Universe outing ought to change its name from The Flash to The Dark Knights. As Anthony Breznican revealed yesterday in an exclusive story, the 2022 film will feature not only Ezra Miller’s speedy superhero (also known as his mild-mannered alter ego, Barry Allen), but a host of alternate-dimension DC all stars—including Batman as played by both Michael Keaton and, yes, Ben Affleck. “He’s a very substantial part of the emotional impact of the movie. The interaction and relationship between Barry and Affleck’s Wayne will bring an emotional level that we haven’t seen before,” director Andy Muschietti told Breznican. “It’s Barry’s movie, it’s Barry’s story, but their characters are more related than we think. They both lost their mothers to murder, and that’s one of the emotional vessels of the movie. That’s where the Affleck Batman kicks in.”
