There are at least 42 undocumented people trying to avoid deportation by living in sanctuary spaces in 28 US cities. Immigration enforcement officials regard places of worship — such as churches, mosques and synagogues – as sensitive locations, along with schools and hospitals, and generally avoids making arrests at those places. But that policy isn’t set in stone.
ON THIS DAY IN AMERICAN HISTORY
On April 19, 1775, the American Revolution begins after British troops march into Lexington, near Boston, where armed minutemen are waiting for them on the town’s common green. The British order the Patriots to disperse, but the ‘shot heard around the world’ is fired from an undetermined gun, and the revolution begins.
VIDEO: From North Korea’s nuclear program to trade war concerns with China, the United States faces several foreign policy challenges at a time when the White House national security team is in transition. In a VOA interview , retired Admiral Michael Mullen, former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, tells VOA’s Greta Van Susteren that he believes the most important bilateral relationship this century is the one between the United States and China.
Six Radio Free Asia Uyghur Service reporters have spent years in exile covering unreported news and documenting human rights abuses under Chinese rule in their homeland in northwestern China. Now, dozens of their family members in China have unwillingly become inmates in the vast and growing constellation of political re-education camps. They are sharing the fate of as many as one million Uyghurs who are being held without due process under Beijing’s brutal campaign against what it calls religious extremism and separatism.
The US Constitution is the oldest written national constitution still used today.  It was painstakingly crafted more than 200 years ago when state leaders gathered in Philadelphia for what became known as the Constitutional Convention. The delegates emerged with a document that created a new government — but it wasn’t easy to agree on the details when drafting the supreme law of the land.
Life is good at NICE TV. The Chinese network in Cambodia offers generous staff benefits and its flashy building boasts an elegant restaurant with 360 degree views. What’s also different about this particular network is that it is the result of a joint venture between a foreign firm and the  ministry responsible for Cambodian state security.
