QUINCY, Ill. (WGEM) -
The future of "Greek to Me" restaurant in Quincy is still up in the air, and to add insult to injury, Monday would have been the restaurant's 9th anniversary.

Restaurant owner Gus Papazoglou, who is from thessaloniki, says the building owner just hired a work crew to clear debris from the building and keep the damage from getting worse.
The crew came out Monday.

He says the water seeping into the building, including into the restaurant area, is becoming a bigger problem and the restaurant owners are still waiting on the insurance adjuster later this week to find out if they'll be able to re-open at this location, but he says the damage is extensive.

"The carpet is beyond cleaning at this point," Papazoglou said. "The walls are beyond being painted at this point. I mean, you can't just do a paint job or clean the carpet and re-open at this point. It's more than that. So the longer we wait, and the weather's not helping, the worse it's gonna get."

Papazoglou says he's also looking at other location possibilities to re-open in downtown Quincy.
