Body Talk

If you’re not a member of Gen Z, you might need to bring a translator to Bodies Bodies Bodies, an intermittently effective new horror film about a group of 20-somethings whose hurricane party devolves into a tense, bloody murder fest. Richard Lawson’s mixed review praises the film’s talented cast—Shiva Baby alum Rachel Sennott is a particular standout—but faults its execution: “Narratively, the film grows awfully repetitive, some version of the same argument taking place in one dark room after another,” he writes. “The bodies start piling up (as promised by the title) but still things feel static, as if the movie is spinning its wheels in the mud.”

Elsewhere in HWD, Savannah Walsh chats with the director and star of the acidic internet satire Not Okay; Brad Pitt tells Paul Chi how proud he is of college-bound Zahara Jolie-Pittat the premiere of Bullet Train; Chris Murphy digs deep with the creators of Industry; and David Canfield learns trade secrets from one of TV’s most accomplished production designers.
