Today chief critic Richard Lawson contemplates the vicissitudes of Justin Timberlake’s career as a movie actor, and bears some bad news about his return to the big screen in Palmer. The movie, Lawson writes, is the latest entry in the maudlin “kid-teaches-adult genre.” It does nothing to cement Timberlake’s reputation. “Will this decidedly 21st-century child help the stunted, nearing-40 millennial learn to live again on the backroads of rural Louisiana? Reader, he will.”
