Tonight and Every Night 1945

Tonight and Every Night Columbia, 1945, Color, 92 minutes
Released January, 1945

A different sort of film from the war years, Tonight and Every Night begins with the reminiscences of the stage manager of the Music Box Theatre. Flashback to WWII - Roz Bruce (Rita Hayworth), Judy Kane (Janet Blair), and Tommy Lawson (Marc Platt) are dancers in the musical revue on the Music Box stage every night despite the falling bombs, much to the delight of the servicemen who fill the theater. RAF pilot Paul Lundy (Lee Bowman) is powerfully attracted to Roz and they fall in love. Judy and Tommy are killed in the bombing, and Paul and Roz separate without making any commitments to each other. Some truly great and unique production numbers fill in the story.
