Stowaway

Stowaway

20th Century-Fox, 1936, B/W, 86 minutes, ***

Released December, 1936

Shirley plays Ching-Ching, an orphaned child of missionaries in war-torn China. Quite by accident, she ends up a stowaway on an ocean liner and is "adopted" by Robert Young. This film features Shirley impersonating Al Jolson, Eddie Cantor and Ginger Rogers dancing with Fred Astaire. Alice Faye has two show-stoppers: "Goodnight My Love" and "One Never Knows, Does One?" Don't miss it!
