Stay Away, Joe
MGM, 1968, Color, 101 minutes, **½
Released March, 1968
In an unusual role for him, Elvis plays Joe Lightcloud, a brawlin' half-Navaho cowboy who tries to pave a path of gold for his folks, but whose every effort hilariously backfires, making a mess of everything. The King pours on the charm in this hilarious laugh-out-loud comedy and socks it home with a terrific pair of songs: "Stay Away, Joe" and "Dominique."
