Good afternoon, friends – You’ve probably seen the numerous stories we’ve published lately about Texas public schools. We’ve covered news of scandals in districts all over the state for several months! Just last week, we covered newly released Texas Education Agency data for the 2022-23 school year. Five superintendents in Texas will make more than $400,000, and another 72 are slated to bank at least $300,000 – all of which are their base salaries! That doesn’t include lucrative taxpayer-funded benefits like housing and vehicle allowances. These numbers are mind-boggling. The state Legislature is in the midst of determining how your tax dollars will be spent for the next two years. While real Texans suffer from rising taxes and government intrusion into our lives, government bureaucrats – like school superintendents – continue to profit. Meanwhile, we are all still waiting on meaningful property tax relief despite the state government having over-collected revenues from the citizenry. The good news is that more and more people are getting informed, becoming involved, and making their voices heard. Your support enables Texas Scorecard to expose stories like that of the superintendents’ salaries, which then encourages citizens to take action and make a difference! Will you give $135, $75, or even just $20 to make sure Texans can find the real news they need? Our republic was founded by citizens who knew it was their responsibility to do something to address the injustices around them. In order to make sure Texas is a place where our values are upheld, we must stay vigilant and involved. And the first step to being vigilant and involved is being informed. Will you help Texans get the news they need to be effective citizens? Texas Scorecard will never stop sharing the truth. Thank you for standing for liberty with us! For Texas,
P.S. Thousands of Texans are getting informed and then speaking up to make a difference in the Texas Legislature. Will you give just $40 today to stand with the citizens of Texas? |
