Before he was a giant, fiery eye, Lord of the Rings’ ultimate baddie, Sauron, was…well, not an eye. One of the overarching questions of the first season of Amazon Prime’s prequel series, The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power,was just which of these mysterious Middle-earth inhabitants might one day watch over us (and Frodo and his entourage) with an infernal, evil gaze.
