Hot Priest Turns Hot Lord
Yeah, Andrew Scott might be referred to as the “Hot Priest” forever, in an ode to his Fleabag turn, but he’s pretty okay with it. “There are worse things to be called,” the actor, who takes a turn as something of a medieval louche dad in the upcoming Catherine Called Birdy film adaptation, says. And he’s not wrong. The actor discusses working with Lena Dunham as a director, the upsides of centuries-old fashions (comfy!), and why you won’t find him tweeting anytime soon.
Elsewhere in HWD, the film adaptation of The Perks of Being a Wallflower turns 10 today, and author-screenwriter-director Stephen Chbosky spoke to VF about the movie’s legacy and why it still resonates with audiences today—and his hopes for Ezra Miller. The producers of the James Bond franchise are on a mission to find their next 007 (the 008th actor to play the role, for those keeping track at home), ahead of the series’ 60th anniversary; and we have exclusive images of Lea Michele’s triumphant return to Broadway’s Funny Girl after quarantining for COVID. Jennifer Coolidge, fresh off her Emmy win for The White Lotus, proves that filming the show can be anything but a breeze, sharing how she was taken down by a spray tan. All this and more, today on VF HWD.
