Larry David vs. a Toilet Seat
In the second episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm’s 11th season, Larry David goes to war with a toilet seat. “The show is all about these kind of spirited confrontations between Larry and his environment,” Curb showrunner Jeff Schaffer, who shares writing credits on the episode with David and who also directed it, tells Whitney Friedlander in her detailed breakdown of that pivotal scene. “A lot of times the environment is just terrible people on the west side of Los Angeles. Sometimes the environment is a vacuum-sealed package or a toilet seat or a smoke alarm.”
Elsewhere in HWD, Britt Hennemuth introduces Thuso Mbedu, who joins Viola Davis in the epic historical drama The Woman King this fall; Anthony Breznican previews The Midnight Club, from the creators of The Haunting of Hill House; Derek Lawrence chats with I Think You Should Leavemasterminds Tim Robinson and Zach Kanin; and David Canfield explains why Better Call Saul may finally win an Emmy this year—before it’s too late.
