Air France Flight 358: Miracle at Toronto Pearson
On 2nd August 2005, an Air France Airbus A340 crashed after skidding off the runway at Toronto Pearson International Airport. The quad-jet skidded off the runway due to unfavourable weather conditions, and the poor landing decisions made by the pilots. Looking at the aircraft’s wreckage, it seems miraculous that no one lost their lives during the incident.
American Airlines Orders Up to 60 Boom Supersonic Overture Aircraft
American Airlines and Boom Supersonic today announced the airline’s agreement to purchase up to 20 Overture aircraft, with an option for an additional 40. American has paid a non-refundable deposit on the initial 20 aircraft. Boom Supersonic’s Overture would introduce an important new speed advantage to American’s fleet. World Record Title: The Fastest Circumnavigation by Scheduled Airlines
Guinness World Records includes various categories and appeals to people of varying abilities, skills, and characteristics. I noticed the above record title in Guinness World Records was dated 1980. Video: Flying into America’s Dangerous Airport on Aero, a Semi-Private Jet
I joined my flight instructor Tex, who recently got hired at Aero; a luxury all First Class "semi-private" jet company. We flew together to Aspen, Colorado, known as one of the most challenging and tough airports in the U.S.
Aspen/Pitkin County Airport is 7,820 ft in elevation. For most aircraft operations, aircraft must land to the south but take off to the north.
The Aero Embraer 135 has been fitted with just 16 First Class seats in a 1-1 configuration. It has its own FBO at Van Nuys and you can arrive at the airport as little as 20 minutes before the flight. Find out more about my flight on Aero and the unique approach into Aspen Airport in the video.
