Annual Conference 2022 & 2023

More than 250 professionals from regional television stations across Europe attended the 38th Annual Conference of CIRCOM Regional on 26-27 May 2022 in Galway, Ireland. The Conference was hosted by TG4, the Irish language broadcaster. All the sessions of the Conference are published on CIRCOM website - you can watch them HERE.
This year the Prix CIRCOM Gala paid tribute to the most outstanding works of our colleagues during the last three years as this was the first Gala with in person attendance since 2019. You can watch the Prix CIRCOM Gala HERE.
The CIRCOM Regional Annual Conference 2023 will be in Donostia/San Sebastián, Bask Country, Spain, on 1-2 June 2023 and will be hosted by EITB (Euskal Irrati Telebista – Basque Radio and Television).

Green policy proposal
The European Board discussed a proposal for a green policy regarding the Annual Conference. The goal of this policy would be to offset the carbon footprint of CIRCOM’s main yearly event, to achieve Annual Conferences with neutral environmental impact. For this purpose, CIRCOM would invest an estimated amount of its budget in Certified Emission Reduction units (CERs) equivalent to the carbon footprint of the Annual Conference. The money allocated for this would then be channelled by the United Nations Offset Climate Neutral towards an environmental project in a developing country.
Training programme
Senior Management Workshop was held on 22-23 June 2022 in Gothenburg, Sweden, hosted by SVT. 16 leaders from 10 European countries discussed the challenges their television stations are facing in 2022 and beyond. They talked about what they have learned over the past two years during this relentless intensity of the news agenda. Also the meeting primarily focused on what is required of the leadership in the digital transformation. SVT shared their learning about maintaining linear audiences while focusing on developing new digital ones and reconnecting with generations of news consumers.

The Second session of the workshop New Formats for Storytelling will be in September 2022 in The Netherlands, with Group One on 19-21 September hosted by Omroep Gelderland in Arnhem, and Group Two on 21-24 September hosted by Omroep Brabant in Eindhoven. You can find detailed information HERE
