1D Tweet Makes History

2011
Louis Tomlinson of One Direction sends a tweet to his bandmate Harry Styles that becomes the second-most-retweeted in history.

After Styles says in a video interview, "My first real crush was Louis Tomlinson," Tomlinson sends this tweet:

"Always in my heart @Harry_Styles . Yours sincerely, Louis,"

1D fans become aflutter with the thought of Harry and Louis in love, and retweet it like crazy. The tweet becomes kind of a historical archive, a remnant from the early days of Twitter and an innocent time when the guys actually tweeted each other. The retweets keep coming, and in 2015 it passes Barack Obama's "Four more years" tweet to take second place behind the Ellen Degeneres Oscar selfie.
