ΤΙ ΕΓΙΝΕ Ο ΠΙΤΣΑΔΟΡΟΣ ΤΩΝ ΟΣΚΑΡ

When Academy Awards host Ellen DeGeneres ordered pizza in the middle of the Oscars, it was Edgar Martirosyan, delivery guy and co-franchisee of Big Mama's & Papa's on Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood, who showed up with the pies.
Now he and his brother Erik have opened pizza restaurant Wood in Silver Lake. The brothers have owned the Sunset franchise of Big Mama's & Papa's for eight years but have long dreamed of their own Neapolitan-style pizza restaurant.
The Martirosyan brothers were always hands-on, according to Erik, passing out fliers, baking and delivering pizzas and managing the store. Before opening Wood, he says, they researched every facet of Italian pizza making.
"We even have a mixer from Italy for the dough we make daily," Erik says. "We wanted the right ingredients, the right products -- all shipped from Italy."
So instead of selling pizzas such as the Cheese Lovers Pizza or the Alfredo with grilled chicken breast or shrimp, Edgar's baking hand-formed pizzas baked in Wood's wood-burning oven, among them: Margherita; lamb and mint; mushroom, fresh tomato and sweet corn; and arugula and prosciutto. Maybe for next year's Oscars?
