When Sonaar Luthra and Sarah Szalavitz signed the lease to rent a home in La Quinta, California, they were surprised to learn that the property was owned by Frank Ferrer — the drummer for Guns N’ Roses since 2006.
At first, they were relieved. They thought that someone in the public eye would be a reliable landlord.
But their desert paradise soon became a rental from hell: A severe crack in the roof led to flooding in the office, doors wouldn’t lock, and the dishwasher used dirty water from the garbage disposal — possibly making Szalavitz sick. And that was just the beginning of their woes.
The couple now wants Ferrer to apologize for the harm done, replace what was destroyed when the office flooded, and make a sincere effort to let them live in peace at the property.
