More than a year after its original release date—and several years after it was initially put into development—Marvel’s Black Widow, the studio’s long-delayed stand-alone film about Scarlett Johansson’s assassin turned Avenger, is finally due to debut in theaters and on Disney+. And according to Richard Lawson, the movie was worth the wait. Black Widowis “a fun, occasionally poignant globe-trotting adventure,” he writes, “one that puts a reliable character to good use and introduces—somehow rather organically—her replacement.”
